About the Club

SJIS Literary Club aims to instill the culture of Literature amongst the young minds. The club's motto, 'Aspire to Inspire', follows that same path of committing to the world of Literature to spread its knowledge throughout and establish its wide arena of imagination and creativity to all souls around. The club was established in the year 2019 under a different name called the 'English Alliance Club', where only English Literature based activities were nurtured. The name was changed later to being called as 'SJIS Literary Club', to involve Bangla Literature as well. The purpose was to ensure that we do not forget our own Mother Tongue. The purpose of the club is not just to hold annual festivals once a year. Its main purpose is to fulfill its motto in a way where we can establish and nurture the world of Literature in everyone via workshops, seminars, competitions, etc. Public speaking workshops, skill based workshops, reading and writing workshops as well as other events are also held throughout the academic year for all SJIS students. We also hold external activities such as visiting Dhaka Lit fest or Ekushey Boimela every year, to continue to nurture the skill of both English and Bangla Literature. We firmly believe that Literature can help to pave the pathway to succeed in life, irrespective of where you are at in life! It will not only help you to succeed in your career, but also help to master your life skills for decades to come.
